Image from afar of the base camp. It is believed this would be in France, where it is thought Howard McKennon spent most of his time while enlisted in the armed forced during WWII. Howard served as cook after being sent to Florida to receive pastry training. The image demonstrates the similarities in landscape between rural France and rural North Carolina in the foothills.
